I made an app (MVP and demo) that I would need to show to the Google company reviewers for a competition. I did everything I could to share the published app including seeking help from all major LLMs and the LLM declared I did things correctly. The shared app is still not publicly available. I says:
Your organization only
Only users in your organization can access the app.
PLEASE HELP, this is very URGENT since the demo is on June 30 which is just 4 days and I need to prepare other things too!!
Monthly/Annual (if Team or Business): Business
Version of Retool (if self-hosted):
Welcome to the community, @Steve_H! I'm sorry to hear that this is such an obstacle, but it's actually the expected behavior for the time being. The new app builder is still a Beta product and, as such, doesn't yet support sharing apps via public URL.
This is a highly requested feature, though, and we'll likely prioritize it in the coming weeks. I've updated our internal tracking ticket with the context you've shared here and will provide an update as soon as I can!
What do I do then? I spend endless hours building this app, spent all my credit trying to fix this among other things & now I have nothing!!! I am i soup without this MVP app. Is there any solution? May be help me move this to some other host or something… It’s absolutely critical that I have this MVP app shown to Google company team. PLEASE HELP!
Is there any work around or anything at all. Its critical that my client - Google Startups Accelerator team see this MVP app. Maybe some replication on your classic server or something? Anything at all? PLEASE HELP.
Please let me know as soon as possible. I need to have this MVP ready by the end of this weekend, so I am already planning to move to another platform if needed. Thank you
I get the urgency, @Steve_H, but don't think there's an easy workaround - certainly not on the timescale of a weekend. Are you able to add the relevant stakeholders to your Retool org? That would enable them full access to the app you've built.
If you do need to find another platform, you can export the app you've built and hopefully reuse the React frontend, at the very least.
Thanks for the info. The reviewers are anonymous, so I obviously can't add them to the org. Are there any other workarounds at all? For example, can they log in using a generic/pre-registered account with my details, or is there any other workaround?
The only caveat is that our TOS technically doesn't allow account sharing - each set of credentials should correspond to a single end user. If you know how many accounts you'll need, though, you can create generic external users and share the credentials with the reviewers.
