Now, I know that @Jack_T mentioned in this thread, that configuration of staging with Retool email isn't necessary for being able to run a workflow in Staging mode.
Hi @ali-sajjad-rizavi, I tried this out and was able to send emails using the Retool Email resource despite being in staging, so I'm not sure why that error is getting hit.
If you don't mind, are there any relevant screenshots from your workflow you could share?
Just coming back to this - our team did some more testing and we were able to repro this. This works fine while in a workflow and testing on the staging environment, but calling the webhook from a REST API in an app created the error. This is unexpected behavior, so I created a bug report for it.
We found that using a Retool Workflow resource to call the webhook (instead of the REST API), didn't have the same error, so that would be worth trying if you can!
Unfortunately, according to what I've mentioned in my original post, I am calling the workflow from a Stripe webhook, so it is not possible for me to trigger it using a "Retool Workflow" resource.
Yes my mistake, I realized you mentioned the Stripe webhook after I had already commented back.
There is unfortunately no update on the fix for this. I'll keep my eye out for a workaround, otherwise another path you could go down would be to set up your own SMTP resource.
No update at the moment @Niklas_Raab and @MiguelOrtiz. Its in the backlog but we're tracking any and all interest in this bug, thanks for your patience in the meantime!
