Email in Non-Prod Environment not available

Building an order confirmation system and for some reason I am unable to add a Retool Email Resource Query to my application when in the Staging Environment only in Production. Does anyone know how to get around this shortcoming in Retool.

Just to double check, you are on the Team plan and on Retool Cloud, correct? I wasn’t able to reproduce this on my end. I was able to successfully send a Retool email on a Team plan in staging.

Can you share a screenshot or a short video of your setup so I can see what you’re running into on your side? Thank you!!

Hi, Thanks for the reply. Yes, I am on the Team plan on Retool Cloud v3.333.0.

(You can ignore query1 as it is a simple “SELECT *” from Retool Database - it is necessary to have included a resource that is configured for both environments otherwise staging is disabled in the environment toggle on the bottom left of the screen)

Here you can see I am on production and when I try to add a resource query for email (query2), Retool Email appears as on option.

After toggling to Staging environment and trying to create query2 there:

You will see the option no longer appears. When creating our own resources to share between apps, we specifically have to configure them for both environments before they will appear as options to build queries against. I thought this might be the problem, but cannot find a way to tell Retool to permission “Retool Email” for both environments. When I look at the Retool settings, or try to “create” a Retool Email resource it reverts to this page and I cannot find any environment configs.
