Disabled environments

I don't understand clearly how does the environment works in Retool, I have Teams plan and I have created an app, now I want to setup a Dev environment for it so that I can test it, after creating such environment, it shows the "dev as disabled", and there is no option to change it anyway.

Please suggest me the correct way of doing it, and if any resources available please share.

Steps to Set Up and Enable a Dev Environment in Retool

1. Go to Environment Settings:

• Open Settings in Retool and select Environments.

2. Create a New Environment:

• Click New Environment, name it (e.g., "Dev"), and save it.

3. Link Resources:

• In the Dev environment settings, assign the appropriate resources (like a dev database or API).

4. Enable the Environment:

• If it shows as "Disabled," click the environment name and look for an enable toggle.

5. Use Dev in an App:

• Open your app and switch environments using the dropdown in the top-right corner.

Troubleshooting

• Ensure you have the right permissions and all required fields are filled.
• Check for deployment options if environment switching is restricted.

One more thing to add to the above:

The desired environment must be enabled for all Resources used by the app. If the app uses one or more Resources that do not have the desired environment, it will show Disabled when we try to switch environments at the app level.

I am a Admin on the Teams plan for Retool.

I do not see this screen anywhere when I follow the doc:

I have a resource that is assigned to 3 environments, all 3 instances are configured to the specific DB instance.

But I cannot even see the other environments:

Other team members are also reporting similar issue with their resources and apps.

Many a times the resources are configured properly, assigned the environments but still they come up as disabled.

I've checked the permissions and everything seems to be right.

Any advise would be appreciated!

Many a times the resources are configured properly, assigned the environments but still they come up as disabled.

• This happens when one or more Resource queries are using a Resource that doesn't have the desired environment configured.
