Workflow SMTP Body Editor Not Editable – “Invalid inner parse ranges” Error

  1. My goal:
    I am using an SMTP resource inside a Retool Workflow to send automated emails. I need to edit the email body (HTML mode) as usual.

  2. Issue:
    Suddenly, the Body editor is no longer editable.
    Instead of the normal HTML editor, it shows an error screen saying:

    Something went wrong
    Invalid inner parse ranges given: [{"from":3001,"to":3000}]

    Because of this, I cannot edit or update the email content at all.

  3. Steps I've taken to troubleshoot:

    1. Refreshed the page
    2. Closed and reopened the Workflow
    3. Switched between Text / HTML mode
    4. Tried duplicating the Workflow step

  4. Additional info: (Cloud or Self-hosted, Screenshots)

Thanks for reaching out! I was able to locate this error in our logs. I see that it came up for a handful of users, but I haven't seen the error happen again in the past 5 days. Are you still seeing this error?

I tested this out on new and existing SMTP resource blocks inside a workflow (on Chrome), and I haven't been able to reproduce it. Hoping that means it is resolved for you as well! :crossed_fingers: If not, please keep me posted
