Unable to restore, copy or otherwise use previous versions of queries in the query library

Hello

I am trying to restore previous versions of my query but I am not able to. The 'revert to this version' button is greyed out. I am also not able to copy the previous versions or use it in any other way. I am not able to also scroll through the entire query.

This has been happening for a few weeks now.

Please let me know how to resolve this.

Thank you.

Hi @HIO, welcome back to the forum! :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you for flagging this issue, we just made a request for our Engineering Team to take a look at this behavior. :mag:

On the meantime, I found a workaround to be able to get an extensive query from a previous version. Although we can't scroll down the code editor, click anywhere on it, and press Cmd + A (or Ctrl + A in Windows) to select the whole query, this should allow you to copy it.

If you just need to get somewhere down in the query for reference, you can move around using the keyboard arrows. You can also press Cmd + 'Down Arrow' to get to the end of the query.

Hello Paulo,

This workaround works for now. Thanks a lot. Please let me know when the issue is fixed.

@HIO, you are welcome! :slightly_smiling_face:

I found a bug in the query library.

I have a query that i literally cannot click into (i created it, i have full admin permissions, etc.). I think I somehow broke it when i tried extracting the resource to the query library from my app, but now, its just there and i cant delete it, edit it, or anything.

Hi @alessyl,

Very odd, I don't think I have seen this bug before

So when you click on the query, the page does not change and still shows the previously clicked on query, correct?

If you can share a video of the behavior that would be helpful as well. I am going to try to reproduce this to see if it happens for me, what did you do to extract a resource from your app?

Thats correct! I cant really share in video format given the sensitive information id be displaying (and i cant replicate the bug), but its still there "frozen" (cant click into it at all).

Hi @alessyl, thanks for your feedback. We added it to the bug report.

Thank you Paulo!

Was this ever resolved? We are experiencing this problem now.

If there is an open issue, is there any way we can track the progress on them

Hi @Michael_Keenan, welcome to the forum! :slightly_smiling_face:

it looks like there are two different issues with the Query Library reported on this topic:

  1. Not being able to recover older versions because the 'revert to this version' button is grayed out.
  2. Not being able to open a shared query despite the fact that we have permission.

Which one is the one you are experiencing?
