Third Party Products for Email Outputs

I am finding the Workflow Email Outputter a little unstable.

Are there third party products that can read MySQL files for ouputting emails from a MySQL table?

Mike

I don’t know the exact use case. Are you looking for a replacement for the delivery part or a complete replacement for the automation (reading your db and sending emails)?

All I need is something that will deliver emails. I would put together a MySQL table that would have fields for email address, receivers name, event dates etc. I could even put the content into the table as well.

I like the form that we get in Retool workflow. If the third party app had something like that form that could be fed from a MySQL file, it would be great,

Hey Mike - as far as Retool integrations are concerned, you have the option of using the built-in Retool Email resource or connecting to an external SMTP server like Mailgun, Mailtrap, SendGrid, or Amazon SES. There are a bunch of similar providers.

Once you've set up a SMTP resource, it utilizes the same GUI that you enjoy. That said, I can't concretely say where the instability you're describing comes from or if switching to an external provider would fix it.

Thanks Darren:

I am working on a third party product right now and I am surprised that Claude AI has considerable knowledge about the product.

I am working with it now and hope to have some meaningful experience with it in about a week.

If it works when the Retool Workflow doesn't work, then it may be worthwhile for others who are having the same difficulties to take a look.

I will keep you posted.

I have been away for 3 weeks. I found the Workflow email was working for awhile but I see it is not working again.
I saw something about emails going to the junk file.
Is this now considered stable or are their people still working on this?

Mike

Hey @mdsmith1 - the Retool Email resource should be functioning normally. The issue from late July has been fully resolved.

Darren:
I have 4 versions of workflow emails and I finally got one of them to work.
So now have a starting point. I will see where it takes me.
