Team plan: Does ">5 users" mean no cap or a minimum of five users?

Hello Retool team,

I’ve been reviewing your pricing page as my company considers upgrading to the Team plan. The bullet list under “Team” includes the item “>5 users”. I’m trying to understand whether this means:

  • there is no 5-user cap (i.e., we can exceed five users if we need to), or

  • we must have at least five paid users to qualify for the Team plan.

My impression is that “>5 users” signals that the Team plan lifts the 5-user limit imposed on the Free plan, so we could start with a single standard user (at the listed €9 per month) and add others later as needed. A co‑worker read it as requiring a minimum of five standard users tho.

Could someone from the Retool team clarify whether the Team plan has a minimum seat requirement? Is it possible to subscribe to the Team plan with just one standard user (and optionally zero end users), and then scale beyond five users when needed?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey @crizt, welcome to the Community!! Thanks for writing in to clarify this :star_struck:

You were right! The Team plan doesn’t require at least 5 users. You can start with just one standard user and add more whenever you need. The “> 5 users” means more than 5 users, the Team plan removes the 5-user limit from the Free plan, so you can keep adding users as your team grows. Let me know if you’d like me to clarify any part of this further!
