Significant Performance Difference Between MacOS and Windows When Loading Same App

Hi everyone,

We’ve encountered a pretty significant performance issue when using Retool and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced something similar — or if there are any suggestions on how to improve it.

Issue:

When accessing the same Retool app, it loads in about 5 seconds on MacOS, but can take up to 3 minutes to load on Windows.

  • This has been observed across multiple laptops and different browsers.
  • The hardware specs (CPU, memory, etc.) are comparable between the Mac and Windows machines.
  • We’ve tried Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, and the pattern persists.

Questions:

  • Has anyone seen this kind of performance difference before?
  • Are there any known fixes or tips for optimizing Retool performance on Windows?
  • Are there any recommended browser settings or system configurations we should try?
