Native Mega Menu Component is CRITICAL

The current Navigation component is too limited for building modern, multi-layered applications. We urgently need a Mega Menu component or a significant upgrade to the existing component's capabilities.

The Problem:

  • The current navigation component only supports single-level dropdown menus (nested menu items), which are fine for simple apps but fail for complex products with many features.

  • This forces developers to resort to clunky workarounds, such as manually building complex containers or modals that look and behave like a menu, which is non-standard and tedious.

The Solution: A True Mega Menu

We need a navigation option (or a new component) that behaves like an expandable container/modal on hover/click, allowing us to display rich content, like:

  1. Multiple columns of links.

  2. Headings for logical grouping.

  3. Visual components like images or small cards.

This would be treated like a specialized global modal/drawer that anchors to the navigation bar item, significantly improving the UX for complex apps that require users to quickly jump between multiple related areas.

Is this on the roadmap? We need this component to scale our apps!

What are the biggest limitations with the current Modal component for adding in multiple columns, headings and visual components?

Do you have a visual example of exactly what you are hoping for, that I could share with the UI team?
