Wow this is great, it gives so much better control over the layout
Damn, moving stacks and hitting the right "drop" target is incredibly fiddly and cumbersome
Since stacks are logically just an ordinal list of items that are either vertically or horizontally stacked it would be incredibly helpful if I could rearrange the components of a stack in the component tree view.
While we are on this, yes, I've wanted to reorder components many times, but I ALSO want to be able to move components into containers. I find it very cumbersome if I have 30 different components and realize I need them all in a container. I usually have to move them 1 at a time, because drag/drop doesn't work very well in the app view. drag/drop in the component list would be fantastic for moving things between containers
Has this been addressed in some way? A shortcut to move around items in the component tree, or even just the possibility to move items in the component tree instead would be enough. This is really frustrating unfortunately
I agree this functionality would be super useful. We have an internal ticket for this and I can advocate for this as shown by those two other threads this is a popular request and I will be surfacing this to our UI engineering team!
Do you have any ETA? Dealing with stacks without border, margin, padding and so on is driving me nuts since i can't get the layout I want. Using that drag and drop will help a ton!
This would make app rearrangements so much easier. Itβs really painful right now if you want to adjust the layout of the app in a substantial way, around existing components.
Apologies for the issue. Also thank you for the helpful video, I can share that with the engineers internally to help them understand the issue.
It is definitely tricky to get the scroll to work while clicking and trying to drag. I think this would make Retool so much more flexible and easy to use when building complex applications with many components.
