Goal: Stable Viewing Experience for users
-
Steps: We had to change the app to have a fixed height, which is not ideal
-
Details: We have found a small bug in Retool. When a user in Chrome views a document with lots of text, the application cannot determine whether to use a vertical or horizontal scroll bar and switches between both rapidly. Therefore the user sees a persistent flickering and movement of text. This only happens when the screen is maximized. I have a MP4 video but it won't let me attach.

Hi @dkernen! Welcome to the community forum. Thanks so much for posting this - and including a video reproduction, to boot.
This is a known, high-priority bug for which we are actively planning a fix! I should hopefully be able to provide an update shortly.
I have a quick update here! We shipped a tentative fix with version 3.85, so you shouldn't be seeing this behavior any more. Definitely let us know if you still experience any issues.
Hi Darren, I had contact with your support team today about this exact issue and they redirected me here.
We still seem to be experiencing the bug in one of our apps with version 3.85, I'd be more than happy to send you the json export of our app and the query response to load into the app which triggers the bug
Hey @JanVB - welcome to the community.
Please do send that info my way! I'd be happy to take a look
hi @Darren , I am building a web app on Retool, but I am facing an issue when integrating WebSockets. The table is scrolling back with a flickering issue. . Thanks!
Hey @Aman1! Are you able to provide a screen recording that shows the flickering issue? And potentially a JSON export of your app that includes hardcoded query data?
This definitely sounds like the same issue that others in this thread are describing, which leads me to believe that it isn't actually related to your websockets integration, but I'd like to verify that.
