Components not visible on the page

  1. My goal:
    I am trying to build a simple app in ReTool, adding basic components (Text, TextInput, Button, Image) to a new page so I can start developing.

  1. Issue:
    Despite adding components to the page (via dragging onto the canvas), the page stays grey, and the components do not appear visibly on the canvas for me to interact with.

  2. Steps I've taken to troubleshoot:
    Logged out and back in again.
    Performed hard refresh (Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + R).
    Tested in different browsers and incognito mode.
    Checked that:

  • Components are not hidden (hidden: false confirmed in properties).
  • Tested different zoom levels and scrolled

This happens even with a brand new app with only these four components, and also when choosing a template that already has components pre-loaded (the page still appears grey and blank).

Oof, just saw that this is also happening with Templates.

This is extra weird. Are you on a cloud hosted account?

Indeed, really weird. Have you tried incognito?

Yes tried incognito as well as different browsers. No difference :frowning:

This is an extra strange bug that I have yet to see outside of this user's experience.

@CedricOJ Are you able to replicate this issue from a different machine? I wonder if there is a hardware component to the problem (like a hardware acceleration setting or other physical limitation).

I also haven't seen this issue yet :thinking: still something we want to investigate. @CedricOJ it would be helpful if you can share an app json export
