Changing ownership of account

If you're looking to transfer ownership of a Retool account because you're leaving the business, there's no direct "change owner" button but here’s how to handle it effectively:

1. Make Sure There's Another Admin

  • Retool requires at least one admin in the organization to archive or transfer things.
  • Go to Settings → Users, and confirm another user has the Admin role
  • If not, add a new admin or promote an existing user.

2. Archive Your Account or Organization

Once a second admin is in place:

  • Navigate to Settings → Account, scroll down, and use “Archive account”
  • If you're the sole admin, you'll first need to archive the entire organization under Settings → Advanced, or promote another admin before archiving
