Are there any plans to make the new app builder available without running the retool agent worker and agent sandbox? The CLI would allow app building without the requirement to run all pieces of the self-hosted deployment.
Hi @jpearson, the CLI does not involve the Retool agent or sandbox except when previewing/publishing. Does that answer your question?

I submitted the beta application form and installed via npm and auth’d per the youtube video, but Claude is telling me the CLI calls are getting 404 errors because it needs to be enabled for my org first. What else do I need to do to enable it, or am I just stuck on the waitlist waiting for an email or something?
This is the actual blocker: the Retool CLI feature is not yet enabled for your org on the backend. The client-side setup (npm install, auth) is done and working, but Retool has a separate org-level feature flag that's off.

Hi, we are using Retool self-hosted and we are interested in testing the CLI, currently we use Claude Code with the MCP and would love to see how the CLI could improve our workflow.
Also would be good to know if any specific version is need to enable all the features the CLI might need, so I can prepare it until we wait for the private beta access.
Hey @marcio_ide - I don't believe we've shipped a self-hosted build that supports the CLI just yet. We're tentatively targeting the Q4 stable release, meaning it will become available sooner if you're open to running on edge. Expect a notification here when that happens!

Hi @Darren — same situation as @nickroz1 and @Klearner above. I submitted the early access form, installed @tryretool/cli and authenticated fine (retool auth login and retool apps both work), but retool clone returns:
POST /api/ai/rr/git/v2/apps/<app-uuid>/cli/thread
404 Not Found — "The Retool CLI is not enabled for your organization."
I'm an org admin on Retool Cloud and there's no CLI toggle under Settings > Beta, so I don't think I can enable it myself. Would you mind verifying whether our org can be added to the private beta? Happy to send the subdomain by DM rather than posting it here.

Similarly to the others above, I submitted the early access form and installed @tryretool/cli but ran into the error. I’m very keen to try the CLI with Codex as I believe it would greatly improve our current workflow. Is there any chance of getting access to the private beta?
