Bug Report: Cant Search for Select Component

Not a huge issue, but annoys me a silly amount so figured it was worth reporting since I cant find any other posts about it. This confuses me far more than I would like to admit!

When searching for a component when adding within an app, you cannot search for the select component. The only way I can find it is by searching for dropdown, as the description contains it. I am not sure if others can reproduce, but it has been effecting me for a while.

Ass you can see on the left, select exists when using the main component search, yet not when using the in-app search:

Here you can see that it does appear when searching for dropdown:

Again not a major issue, but it is confusing and I imagine others also get stumped by this.

Hello @jamesg31!

That is an odd bug, which version of retool are you on/are you self hosted?

I just tried to replicate on the current live cloud version of retool, and the search inside a component has category headers such as 'Select Inputs' that showed up for me and contains the Select component

So hopefully this bug was fixed with an update we pushed recently :crossed_fingers:

Hey @Jack_T, thanks for looking into this. I am on the latest version of retool cloud.

Note, this issue only occurs when using the component selector that appears after hitting the plus button above or below an existing component. The screenshot you showed is the create components window, which is working properly for me too.

Hopefully this makes sense!

@jamesg31 Ahh I see! Thank you for the added context, I thought you had clicked the Add Components grey plus sign not the Blue one on the border

Just reproduced the bug, will file to our eng team!

Hello @jamesg31!

It looks like our eng team has marked this ticket as done. The patch should either be up or released shortly!

Make sure you are up to date on the latest version of Retool and let me know if it works for you :crossed_fingers:
