I notice that when you change from Explorer to State the panel layout changes. In the Explorer tab the the Code window is the bottom half of the left panel. In the State tab, it moves to the bottom panel.
What I would like is to be able to decide which I prefer the Code window to live. If I leave it in the left panel, I want it to be height resizable. If I leave it in the bottom panel I want it to be width resizable.
Maybe even have the option of having any of the windows be there own panel like these mockups all of which fit on a widescreen monitor:
