Question for the Retool team: using the upload dialog box, when clicking the Upload link to choose your file to upload, the link just routes to the Published page.
url attached to the upload link:
https://companyname.retool.com/views/published
this did work correctly (allowing you to browse to a file to upload), up until recently.
thanks.
Hello @dhretool,
I just tested it on my end, and the upload functionality is working as expected — clicking the "Upload" link correctly opens the file browser. It might be a bug specific to your app or environment. I’d recommend trying the following:
- Make sure your browser is up to date.
- Try a different browser or incognito mode.

Thanks for looking. Browser in question was up to date, cache cleared etc. After testing 4 different browsers, the issue appears to be in Firefox only.
@dhretool,
Are you on Retool Cloud? Also, are you on the latest Firefox? I just tested my Cloud instance on Firefox and it works fine for me.
It could be Firefox extensions? Try running it in Troubleshoot mode and see if that fixes your Upload a file

I'm on Retool Cloud and Firefox is up to date:
It's an odd one. Working perfectly up until recently. I only have one extension which I doubt is the issue. Troubleshoot mode gave me no change in results.
I might try uninstalling firefox and reinstalling it. clear out anything which might be a problem, and see what happens.
Follow up: after doing just a refresh in Firefox, I tried an Upload once again. Firefox displayed an allow pop ups dialog. Now, if I allow the pop up, cllicking the Upload a File link, opens the Retool app list in another tab. If i dont allow the pop up window, I get the File Browse window. Odd, but not allowing pop ups seems to be the solve for now.
Edit: I don’t have a pop-up blocker extension. It’s base Firefox install, which means it’s the Firefox block popup windows function. If it’s active, the link doesn’t work. If inactive, the upload works.
okay @dhretool, you likely have a pop up blocker extension in Firefox. I'm going to go ahead and close this ticket.
