The editor wastes most of the space when I'm editing a query. Having all of this space for the editor would be great in the main view.

If you hover on the edge of the code editor you will be able to resize it to your liking.

I can do that and make the editor section large but the code window inside that section is still small.
Regardless of the size of the editing (using your method), the code window is tiny. It will partially expand with more code it in but still wastes most of the room.

Thanks for the feedback here @DuncanRitchie, the dev team is actively working on making broader changes to the UI to make it more ergonomic and one of the main focuses is the code editing experience. There's a lot of agreement that it could use an upgrade!
