We are running on-prem 3.284, and I have added 4 agents to source control, and cherry-picked across to the UAT branch on DevOps. I can see the agents in the UAT branch, but when I go to our UAT space, the agents do not appear. I have gone into the UAT space Source Control and run Deploy Latest. The agents are not appearing; this does work with apps, workflows, and resources. The source control shows as healthy. We have set UAT to only allow objects from source control, i.e. no editing.
I think I have found the cause - UAT is running version 3.253.1 and I assume it needs 3.284.

That's almost definitely the root cause, @klautier. 
You can probably confirm by taking a look at the sync logs in the UAT instance.

Can you confirm that this is working after syncing the versions of your two instances?
