My question though is, there is no trace of a change log related to this. There may have been other new features that are waiting for us to accidentally find out.
Just wondering if there is a chance that a more detailed report of updates could be provided when components are updated?
@MiguelOrtiz does this functionality exist in previously existing table components or do you need to drop a new table component in order to be able to change the min-width for tag options? Or need to be enabled through Retool settings?
In my currently open app that has 13 different tables (1 per view) and I don't see this option, but also don't want to have to realign table names and setups in creating 13 new table components so I'm able to increase the min-width
I'm not sure to be honest, Retool must be slowly rolling it out to cloud accounts. I have apps with tables that I haven't touched for months/years and they have these options, so I'm assuming is at an account level. I didn't activate anything via Retool settings either.
Bigger product changes are also listed here: Changelog | Retool Docs. Our internal team decided to limit updates in this changelog to only the highlights.
If a bug or feature request is reported on the forum, we do our best to link it to the internal engineering request, so that we can update the forum topic when it ships
For some features, we roll them out gradually to more and more Cloud users before officially announcing them. Once it is generally available, it should get documented per the above options
These processes should catch many changes to the product, but we do miss some! I also recognize that it's tricky to keep track of so many different types of updates. Our team is looking into better ways to surface product updates here on the community, beyond only the product Announcements. This work is very much in progress, so I'm not sure what will come of it yet
For these specific table changes:
The table min list width shipped on Retool Cloud v 3.167 in early March (and then to edge releases shortly after)
The min/max dates should have been there for the past ~2 years
AJ, if you're on a Retool version that should have these features, make sure you've checked on "editable" to enable these settings
