Is there still a shortcut to save the data you have entered into a cell in the Retool Database? It used to be CTRL ENTER, but now that is used to add a row. It's not very handy to have to click the SAVE button each time, but I've tried every keyboard shortcut I could think of and nothing works.
Hey there tomm!
I think maybe you're trying to save a field with no modifications added.
Retool saves the information in the field whenever you press CTRL + ENTER only when it detects differences with the information previously stored.
If the save button appears clickable, it'll allow you to save with the keyboard shortcut. If not, it won't allow you to save.
In the first case, it'll allow you to save. In the second one, it won't.
Hello @sidetool,
Thanks for the response, however, I have tested this and it still does not work. It always opens the window to add a new row.
Maybe it has to do with special keys configuration on windows? I would suggest taking a look at that configuration (If you have it enabled, it may be altering how ctrl, shift and caps are working on your PC).
I don't have any special configuration keys set. I'm not sure what is going on, but it is frustrating.
@tess, or anybody from the Retool team, do you know why I can't use the keyboard shortcut in the Retool database?
@tomm,
On my macbook pro ctrl-enter saves my data whereas cmd-enter creates a new row. Are you on a pc?
There's a new Retool DB design being rolled out; I think this is a regression. @tomm I can roll you back if you'd like for now; will try to fix issue soon.
@Michael_Huang that would be very helpful. Thank you.
