Thank you for the feedback @mbgs - This is something that our Engineering team is looking into. Ideally the Automatic column width would allow the columns to be wide enough to fit each row's content and to have a horizontal scroll bar on the bottom that allows to navigate to see columns to the right, if necessary.
We don't have a timeline yet when this will be possible but I will update you on this thread here when there are news 
As a workaround we recommend to disable the auto-width feature and manually set the size of each column - this is not ideal but hopefully will make your table more readable until a better fix is in place.
