Daniel from Retool emails

Version of Retool (if self-hosted): 3.196.6

Question / Description: Is there a way to unsubscribe all of our current and future users from the Daniel from Retool marketing emails? They are sent to everyone on our account, even the disabled users. They're sent as if our users are all building in Retool.

Well, now that you're bringing this up, I have to share another thing retool is doing wrong.

Some of my external users are receiving automated emails like the below:

This is wrong because:

  • It is an external user, not a developer as stated in the email
  • It is my customer, and retool has no business sending them emails

I have already flagged this to the retool support team a couple of months ago via private message, so I'm escalating this via a public post, hoping this gets more attention and automations in retool are looked into and fixed....

Tagging @Darren and @Jack_T to help escalate via appropriate channels.

Best,
Miguel

I too would also would like to bring this up. Working on client projects and noticed this as everyone is getting marketing emails from Retool.

External users and honestly even Internal users with same @domain shouldn't get this as its awkward in some scenarios. Working on a Retool Portal use case for a Saas and we had External users get emails as well. This should really be limited to main contact at most unless authorized otherwise. Hoping the team can please look into this further.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone! I am looking into this internally and will follow up here

We fixed the logic to properly filter out external users from our marketing emails. Thanks again for flagging this issue!

Miguel, I see that you spoke to Andreea directly as well. My apologies! Let me know if I can help with anything else regarding emails to your org.

I'm still looking into the feedback around limiting marketing to main contacts or filtering out users that are marked as disabled.
