πŸ› οΈ Custom Theme Modification with Floating Theme Button 🎨

Hey Retool Community!

We're excited to share a new customization feature we've built to supercharge your Retool dashboards: Custom Theme Mentation β€” a floating button that lets users personalize their layout and appearance in just a few clicks!

:rocket: What It Does

The floating button opens a Theme Customizer panel that allows you (or your end-users) to:

:jigsaw: Layout Options

  • Choose between Vertical or Horizontal layouts.
  • Toggle the Sidebar User Profile Avatar for a cleaner or more personal layout.

:art: Theme Selection : ( Pick from two theme styles )

  • Primary Theme
  • Secondary Theme

:last_quarter_moon: Color Scheme

  • Switch between Light Mode and Dark Mode depending on your viewing preference or time of day.

:bulb: Why We Built It

We wanted users to have more control over their dashboard experience β€” whether it's for branding, focus, accessibility, or just personal preference. The floating button offers:

  • A clean, minimal way to customize without leaving the page.
  • A quick toggle between different layout and theme combinations.
  • Better adaptability for embedded apps or multi-user environments.

:arrows_counterclockwise: Use Cases

  • Branded dashboards for clients with easy theme switching.
  • Dark mode for nighttime workflows.
  • Layout customization for analysts, sales teams, and devs β€” all in the same tool.

Let us know what you think or how you'd improve it!
Happy to share the component setup or logic behind the implementation if you're curious.

Cheers,
