- My goal:To restore stable connectivity for my Retool application, which relies on both Google Sheets and Supabase (PostgreSQL) resources.
- Issue:Starting today, multiple queries have begun failing intermittently with "Unexpected error occurred while running query."
-
This is happening across two different resource types (Google Sheets and Supabase).
-
The failures are random; the same query may work once and then fail the next three times.
-
The Google Sheets resource was recently moved to a Shared Drive, but even after re-authorization, the intermittent errors persist.
-
- Steps I've taken to troubleshoot:
Re-authorization: Performed OAuth re-authorization for the Google Sheets resource multiple times.
Sheet Configuration: Verified the Spreadsheet ID and confirmed the sheet names are correct.
Database Check: Verified Supabase connection settings; however, it is also failing sporadically like the Google Sheets queries.
Environment Test: Cleared browser cache and tested in Incognito mode, but the issue remains.
Resource Re-creation: Attempted to refresh the resource connection, yet the "red exclamation mark"/error status appears inconsistently. - Additional info: (Cloud or Self-hosted, Screenshots)

Hi Andrew, thanks for bringing this up. Weβre able to reproduce the issue on our end and noticing the the intermittent query success. There seems to be an issue in our backend. Iβm grabbing a few engineers on our team to quickly investigate. Thanks for holding tight while we look into resolving this!
Hi Kenny
I would like to provide some feedback regarding the platform's performance. Over the past month, we have experienced frequent instability with Retool, including one instance where the system was completely down (a total outage)
.
To be honest, these recurring issues are becoming quite concerning and are significantly impacting our daily business operations. We rely heavily on Retool for our workflow, so platform stability is our top priority.
We truly hope to see improved reliability in the future. We appreciate your hard work and kindly ask you to look into the current issue and provide a fix as soon as possible.
I hear you Andrew. This is not the experience you should be having and understand the frustration here with Retool. Iβve shared your feedback with our eng team. Thank you for sharing your pain points.
On the bright side, the issue should be resolved now. You should be able to continue monitoring this from our status page as well: https://status.retool.com/.
Let us know if this is working for you too.
