My goal: The query simply doesn’t trigger
-
Issue: Confirmation modal
-
Steps I've taken to troubleshoot:
On multiple occasions, locations, and apps, we have the same problem. Things stop working all of a sudden that have worked for quite a long time, without anybody touching it.
Now, it often happens that queries just don’t do nothing, even if there is no reason. All because of this - when it’s set to true, the query doesn’t run. So on every problem I have to make a custom modal and connect it to the logic. I’m a little tired of workarounds for every single thing.

Also, last couple days, connection often stops and the screen get’s blurred and it says ‘Connecting’, for our entire team.
Hey @Alem_Causevic Alem, thanks for flagging this. A few clarifying questions to help us reproduce and narrow this down:
- Are you on Retool Cloud or self-hosted? If self-hosted, which version?
- What does "doesn't run" look like on your end? When you trigger the query, does the confirmation modal appear at all? If it does, does clicking "Confirm" do anything, or does the query start and fail silently? Any errors in the browser console or Debug tools panel would be helpful too.
- You mentioned it started last couple days, roughly when did you first notice it?
Thanks!
Hello.
- Retool Cloud.
- Doesn’t run means, it actually doesn’t run. It isn’t show in debug, it doesn’t trigger at all. Nothing happens. There isn’t any information in either debug or in the browser console.
- I would say last week I started noticing this.
The only reason I found this, was because it was my first thought to check query advanced running options. I just randomly checked if there was a bug with confirmation.
Hey again @Alem_Causevic, could you test this in an incognito window and let us know if the behavior changes? If the issue persists, it would also help to see your app's JSON export so we can take a closer look at the query configuration. You can either share it here or dm me! ![]()
