Bitbucket souce control App password is depricated

Hey team,

We are using self-hosted Retool, and using Bitbucket to do source control. Recently there is the notification from Bitbucket that app password is going to be replaced by API tokens. This is the notification content:

On September 9, 2025, the creation of app passwords will be discontinued. From that date forward, you will need to create and use API tokens. On June 9, 2026, any existing app passwords will become inactive, meaning any integrations or tools using app passwords will stop working as expected.
  1. My goal: I would like to know whether Retool will have the API tokens options for Bitbucket source control for self-hosted Retool apps.
  2. Issue: App password is deprecated by Bitbucket.
  3. Steps I've taken to troubleshoot: Not applied.
  4. Additional info: (Cloud or Self-hosted, Screenshots) Self-hosted

Hi Nan,

Thanks for flagging this recent change. I've surfaced this with our Source Control engineering team and will get back to you on how we plan to respond. Some good news is although Bitbucket will no longer allow the creation of new app passwords, your existing App passwords will continue to work until June 9th 2026 according to their site.

Great news! This should be available very soon - likely in the next couple of weeks.
