Hi,
today the authentication via Retool Embed suddely stopped working in our app. After some digging I discovered that if I just replaced the Retool API token with freshly created one it started to work again. Therefore I'm guessing, that the Retool API tokens have limited time of validity. It would be good to display this in the UI, so users are aware of it and can take action on it.
All the best,
Honza B.

Hi @Honza_Bartunek
I reached out to the Engineering team that owns the Retool API to see what that expiration is and if we can add it to the documentation as well as display this in the UI. Thanks for the feedback, this could definitely be more clear!

Are you self hosted? If so what version?
Actually no, we are on the cloud version.

We're looking into this. Thanks, Honza. I let you know when we have an update.
Hey @Honza_Bartunek,
As of now our Retool API keys don't expire. One of our engineers was able to see that your API token was deleted via UI on 9/30. Is it possible that this is why it stopped working or did you do so after you noticed your authentication via embed stopped working properly?
I removed it manually after I created a new one in order to fix our embedded apps.

Thanks for confirming Was this the only step you took to fix your application?
