Unable to create Retool Vector resource

  • Goal: Create a Retool Vector resource.

  • Steps:

  • Click add resource from home screen.

  • Choose create new > Vector

    Cursor_and_Vector_List___Retool

  • Input any name, choose any embedding. Choose document as vector type.

  • Click create. See error below:

  • Details: Not much to share it just errors out when attempting to create.

  • App json export: Not relevant.

Hello @thom801 Welcome to Retool Community,

I have tested this in my app ( Retool version 3.155.0), and it is working perfectly, as shown in the screenshot. The issue may be due to a timeout error when connecting to Postgres.

Possible Cause & Fix:

  • Database Connection Issue: Verify that your Postgres database is running and accessible.

What do you mean by my Postgres database? Is there some prerequisite to have a Postgres database set up in Retool before using Vector? Can you share more details on how I can fix my issue?

Hi @thom801,

Just checking in. This may have been an issue with the Retool Database. Were you able to resolve this? If not, can you please confirm what happens when you go to the database tab or attempt to query data from Retool Database via screenshot? Thanks!

This did get resolved. I didn't do anything different it just seems to have resolved on it's own so I bet it was related.
