Hi folks im looking at starting to use retool to create a ledger system, a simple one and a training record system out of google sheets. Is it a difficult thing to get into or is it quite good. I have quite a bit of time so no problem there. I would like to start from the beginning. Im not very familiar with sql so things like summing columns etc I would maybe struggle. Any advice is greatly received.

Wanted to drop by here since, for a "ledger"-like use case, we recently added a new Add-on feature (summary row) to the new table component that would make building a ledger table in Retool easier. You can now add a summary row out-of-the box, like this:
After you select summary row, you can click into it to configure which columns you want to show a summary for, and whether you want Count Distinct, Min, Max, Average, or Sum:
Then you'd get this nice row at the bottom:
