A selectedIndex property for select components in other frameworks is very common and I have used it many times.
Just hit a need for it in Retool.
Hey @bradlymathews! We're actually actively working on bringing selectedIndex (selectedIndexes for multi-select) to all of our inputs with multiple options, including Select, Checkbox Group, Listbox, etc. I think it should land as soon as next week!

Select, Multiselect, Listboxes, Radio/Checkbox/Switch Groups, and Segmented Control have all been updated with selectedIndex/selectedIndexes!
