Retool Vectors Function Down?

I’m encountering consistent issues with the Retool Vectors feature:

  • Any attempt to upload a file (even a small one-line sentence PDF) results in a “Failed to fetch” error (see screenshot attached).
  • Workflows that attempt to use Retool Vectors always timeout or return a 504 error, even for the simplest test cases.

This happens across multiple attempts and files, leading me to believe it’s likely a platform issue rather than a configuration issue on my end.

Could you please advise if there are known issues affecting the Vectors feature or suggest any immediate troubleshooting steps?

Update - I have just tried to replicate the exact same process on another retool instance different organisation, and no issues atall. So it looks like retool version I am currently using keeps erroring out for any iteration of vector I try do, even something as simple as the below. I am using the cloud retool database, pg_extension is installed, never had issues before.

Hey there @RA_SYD, thanks for reporting this and for testing it again in another Retool instance under a different organization. Are both of those instances running the same version? Also, are you on Retool Cloud or a self-hosted setup? If self-hosted, could you share which version you’re running? Let me know! :pray:

Hey @RA_SYD, thanks for the clarification! A few quick questions to help me debug:

• Can you create a new vector successfully?
• Does the issue only appear when you create a new doc, or does it happen with existing docs too?
• Do you see any errors in the console, either in your browser console or the Retool console?
• In the browser Network tab, do any requests fail, and if so which ones and what status codes?
• Could you share your subdomain name so I can check logs on my end?
