i want to create retool app like the this: Retool | Know Your Customer (KYC) user explorer but it seems like it is no longer available. I want to create the same thing but using firestore rather than postgres
any tips/ideas?

An app like the Know Your Customer (KYC) user explorer is fairly straightforward.
Start by linking your resource (Firestore) in the Resources. Then start adding your components. If you need any help along the way, the Retool documentation is very helpful, CHatGPT is your friend (with correct prompts), and feel free to ask questions here. There is always someone around.
If you haven't looked into Retool University yet, this should be the first stop. You will learn what Retool is capable of and how to build amazing apps!
There are also Office hours twice a week to help solve any issues live with the Retool team and other developers.

I just checked out the link and the start button does not seem to work so apologies for that 
I just asked internally if we were meant to de-commission that example completely or if we can get the button working again to spin up an example template.
In the meantime, you could follow Shawn's amazing advice and get your hands dirty doing some building in Retool and following along with using the listed components and example queries from the KYC example.
Also, if you have the patience, we are preparing to launch our AI powered app builder very soon in the next few weeks!!! This will allow you to pass in a text prompt of "built out a KYC app, here's an example" and have the AI help you build and fine tune the app.
