Increase file limit in a table "Image upload" column

Hello all!

It seems that the file size limit is set to 1mb for the "Image upload" column, which is quite small.

Any way to increase this just by a little?

Regards,

I agree. This limit does not make sense.
It would also be great to be able to costumize what the 3 buttons on the column type: "image upload" do.

Thank you.

Hey, there currently isn't any way to increase this limit, but I have gone ahead and created a feature request for this. Thank You for your suggestions!

Hi cperea,

is there any news on this? I just stumbled over this issue as well, and being able to increase the file size for image columns would spare me having to create a complicated workaround.

Hey @Markus_W_NBG! Welcome to the community forum.

We've had a couple of inquiries about this very thing in recent days and I've resurfaced the question with our development team. I don't have any updates now but should hopefully be able to follow up soon!

Hey Darren. Thank you for the warm welcome. And thank you very much for bringing this up with your dev team. It's much appreciated.

Maybe a little bit of background why this is a problem, in case you need arguments for a priority assessment: When used on a mobile device, clicking the "Upload file" button in an empty cell of an image column brings up an option to take a photo with the device camera. I don't know about android, but on iOS, a typical photo is around 4 MB, and iOS doesn't seem to give the user any way to downscale the camera image to a specific size. Which effectively means the image upload facility is unusable with iOS devices.

Anyway, again, thank you for pushing this issue, and I'm looking forward to your followup.

That is a very good callout! I'll be sure to include that context in the conversation. :+1:

@Darren Do you have an update on this topic?

Welcome to the community, @frech! There hasn't been any movement on this, unfortunately. I'd be happy to help you implement a workaround, though, depending on the specifics of your use case.
