Importing App as Page in Multipage App Fails with 500 Internal Server Error

Hello Retool Support Team,

I'm encountering an issue when trying to import some of my Retool apps as pages in a Multipage App. While some apps import successfully, others fail with a 500 Internal Server Error.

Specifically, when I attempt to import an app, the following GET request fails:

https://aimerchdashboard.retool.com/api/pages/uuids/87eb106a-8bb8-11ef-a95e-7f1435de926d/importAppAsPage?targetId=4cf7a74c-4389-11ef-be7d-5312005b56f6&header=ignore&sidebar=replace&sourceBranchName=

The response I receive is:
{"error":true,"message":"Internal server error"}

Has anyone else reported a similar issue? I would appreciate any insights or solutions to resolve this problem.

Thank you for your assistance.

Also I've tried several approaches to resolve this issue:

  1. Creating a copy of the problematic app and attempting to import the copy instead.
  2. Removing potentially conflicting header component from the copied app before importing.

Unfortunately, these attempts have resulted in the same 500 Internal Server Error.

I've been experiencing the same issue. Reported to Retool support August 15th. The issue was acknowledged and being investigated. Other than one follow up a couple of weeks later, no word, and the import still doesn't work. Regrettable. Ideally we could spare ourselves the trouble of manually creating everything from scratch, but I'm hitting the point where I'll need to. To clarify, some app imports worked and others don't.

Like you, I also tried:

  1. Copy the app and attempt to import.
  2. Exporting the app to JSON and attempt to import.
  3. Deleting archived/deprecated components from the app before trying to import.
  4. Publishing the latest version before attempting to import.
  5. Scanning for any other abnormalities between the problematic app and ones that actually worked (like relying on imported queries, unique resources, modules, etc...). Nothing.

Thank you both for reporting this! Our team is still investigating this bug. I'll post here if I get any updates

Just wanted to flag that I am experiencing the same. Happy to share more info on a ticket or wherever helpful. Won't be able to move to multipage apps until this is resolved.

Same for me here! When i try to import any existing single page into a new multipage, no matter if it's a new or existing one, have had to migrate manually until now (redoing most of the app building)

Thanks for chiming in! Could you share a json export of one of the apps you're trying to import? Particularly an app that you're having trouble importing into a new multipage app, if possible. Feel free to DM so that you don' t have to share it here. It would be super helpful for our team as they are working on this bug

Same issue here, any solution to this problem?

Not yet :disappointed: If you can share app exports of both the app that you're trying to import, and the app that you're importing into, that would be very appreciated!
