I'm frustrated a lot about this situation since I have no documentation about structure for the new checkbox group (in my case it's tree) and the structure that worked before is no longer works for the new component

Sorry to hear you're having issues. We are in the midst of rolling out an update to the Checkbox Group component that will allow it to have nested options and you should hopefully already be able to do this when you create Checkbox Group components by hovering over the "plus icons" for any given option
We were a little delayed in releasing updated documentation on this new feature though it should be released some time tomorrow, so it should become clearer as to how to work with this new tree structure.
In the meantime, if you'd like to still get access to the old Checkbox Tree component, while we have hidden the option from the Component list, we have not removed support for it and you should be able to duplicate existing CheckboxTree components for use. I'll look into re-exposing the Checkbox Tree component under the "Deprecated" section but that wouldn't go live until next week.
