Hi there @mdsmith1,
You can find the option in your "Apps" screen -> Create -> Folder.
See screenshot below:

Hi Miguel:
I have no trouble creating folders. My problem is moving apps into them.
The interface works very poorly but I am able to get one app to mover into the Folder.
But when I do the same steps again with other apps, they appear to move into the folder. But when I open the Folder it only contains the first App.
I think because I am a Team Member that possibly I am not permitted to use this service.
Mike
when you create a folder it is usually placed under drafts
automatically.
To move a folder from drafts
to published
you first have to view your drafts
:
your screen should look like:
next, you want to open the options (...
button)for the folder/item you want to move:
Select Move
from the dropdown menu:
then click on Published
to move it to that folder:
and finally click the blue Move button:
You can view all published items by clicking on Published
instead of Drafts

I want you to know that I followed your instructions very carefully 3 times.
The instructions seemed to be working but at the end when I opened the Folder it contained no Apps.
I am convinced that this service is no longer available to Team Members. I used this feature several times 6 months ago and it was simple and it always worked.
The steps are much more complicated now and no longer work for Team Members.
Mike
Hi @mdsmith1,
I tested this process on the Team plan, and it appears to be working on my side. We don't change or restrict this feature by plan level.
On thing to keep in mind is that when you are moving an app into a folder, you need to click to expand "Published" to see the folder list and then select a specific folder:
I have personally made the mistake of only clicking "Published", in which case your app will not move to a folder
Another note, is that you may want to refresh the page after opening a folder to ensure it has the latest list of apps or make sure the filter selection is set to Apps/All types/etc and not still on Folders:
Tess:
I now realize that none of my Apps have been published.
I got steps of publishing from Google. It appears that I edit and App and get the left side to open, which I have done below.
I am supposed t see a button "Releases and History". I do not see the button.
Mike
The releases and history tab is the clock icon, as labeled below:
Please note that the releases and history tab does not have a feature for moving an app from Drafts to Published. You can click Publish in the top right corner of the editor or the title in the top left corner and select a folder
Tess:
I think the interface has been done very poorly. I get the impression that your developers put their screens together and nobody checks them to see if they are reasonably intuitive.
And so far after following your steps, I don't think they work. See the screen captures below.
The first screen shows that I have 3 Apps that have been published and moved to a folder.
This screen shows the actual folder.
When I open the folder, this is what I get, which is nothing.
I know you are testing as a Team Member. But I am convinced that Folders are not accessible by Team Members,
I used the Folder Feature 6 months ago and it was simple and worked fine. Now my other folders are also empty.
Its not good work.
Mike
Can you double check your permissions? I wonder if the default permissions assigned to the new 'Drafts' and 'Published' folders excludes you.
Do you need a separate directory for both Drafts
and Published
? If not, you could disable the beta feature so the UI goes back to what you're use to:
Personally though, I think the changes make sense, within Retools context, especially if the extra abstraction of a Published
and Drafts
folder helps keep things organized and for access control so others in your org can't edit apps your working on and don't want them to touch (or see.... nobody needs to see all my 'test' folders.)
too simple. it's actually very much normal to have a 'Published'/'Drafts' or 'Development'/'Production' folders in your root project folder. Also, the UI or backend doesn't support nested folders, they can't just add a Published
folder and Drafts
folder and put all our existing folders and apps inside them, so putting them as tabs
View Recent
, View Published
, View Drafts
, View Starred
and View Trash
, then make a new page that each button navigates to.... but using page navigations just to view different folders would get super annoying very quickly (click a folder, load new page, realize its the wrong folder, hit back button, wait for page to load, select new folder........ no thanks. big no thanks)
