Creating user log ins for client end users

I feel like I am missing something. How do you create a client user?

I have created a user and set their workspace so that it lands on a specific app, however, how do you remove options such as "Search" "Browse Apps" "Select a workspace" and "Settings"?

It seems like Retool is designed for internal apps only and not for a project such as an Admin panel that 3rd party client end users would access.

Also, is there a way for client end users to add their own users? Or is this something that would always be managed by the account owner?

Thanks in advance!

Hey @Richard_Fletcher

We recently rolled out a new feature called Retool Portal, which should cover what you’re looking for! The general idea behind Retool Portal is to give you more options to customize and brand your apps. Right now it's in Beta and only available on the Business and Enterprise plans.

When you’re customizing your Portal, you can remove the Retool menu from your app that shows “Search”, “Browse Apps,” etc. To do this, navigate to Settings > Branding and then toggle the User Menu setting to “Powered by Retool” or “Hide Menu.”

You can also restrict which apps users can navigate to by creating a permissions group for client users. By setting permissions on an app-by-app basis, clients will only view the specific apps you want them to.

As for client users inviting their own users outside your organization, this is not a feature we have currently, but I would be happy to add this to an internal feature request ticket :slightly_smiling_face:.

Let us know if you have any other questions!
