Create a new Permission level for creating new resources

Please can you create a permission level that allows non-admin users to create resources.

Hi @tristdrum!

At the moment it's possible to give non-admin users the ability to create resources but you have to give them edit access to all resources.

Allowing users to create resources without having 'Edit all' access is certainly something that's on our radar but I can't make any guarantees about when or if that's a feature that will come to the platform.

Can't seem to create new resources for custom groups even though they're provided edit access to all resources

This is a bit of a late update but resource folders should allow you to grant create resource permissions to a user without granting them access to all users (see docs here).

That being said, granting edit access to all resources should give them permission to create resources as well so it seems like there may be a separate issue here.

I'm not sure what's going on but for some context:

  • Are you currently on a Cloud instance or are you self-hosted?
  • Are the people in the group unable to see the "Create Resource" button or are they getting a particular error when trying to create?
  • Do you have any screenshots you can share of your setup and what you're seeing?
