When Retool Database has column type change, form fields don't reflect...even after sync

I'll share that I'm relatively new to Retool. Just now building my first form in Retool Forms (standalone that can be shared publicly) that will populate data in a Retool Database.

In Retool Forms: I have noticed some nice select options in the field inspector for each field that helps me gather the info from public users in a clear way.

In Retool Database: I have updated some column types (say from number to text type).

Back in Retool Forms: The form field for this (updated) data type that I changed in the database does not reflect the update. It's still presenting as a number field in the form. Despite running the "Sync from database" function in the Form Fields pane.

I have tried refreshing the browser, deleting cookies, logging out and then back in. Nothing fixes this. Is it perhaps a bug?

Hi @simpletech,

It would seem as if the "Sync from database" function is only searching for new/deleted fields, rather than updates to the fields.

A workaround I was able to find, is going to the database button on the sidebar, generate the form with another table, and then go back to the target table.... It is not great as it will delete any configuration you already had for the fields there.

This seems like a good feature request for the retool team, a button to sync column types and refresh the components.
