Use of DNS challenge certbot vs HTTP

Retool has some SSL automation around CertBot listed here: Certificates and internal certificate authorities The simplification of the certs is a great feature! Often these instances are isolated internal to the organization and cannot be reached from the public internet. Having the option to get the cert via DNS based challenge would be of high value vs HTTP challenge only options and not having to resort to all the manual processes,

Hi @ziptx, The out-the box SSL automation that comes with Retool is handled by the https-portal and isn't implemented by Retool. We leave the SSL configuration up to the user, to allow for flexibility. It's possible that in the long term, we might build more OTB options. In the near terms, if you need to get your cert via DNS based challenge, then you would need to build implement your own SSL.
