Hello,
I am working with a table using the group by function and I would like to remove the white space below the groups and have a single column of data. I tried to build a custom component table that would be similar to it but it lacks all the nice functionality that comes with a retool table.
Here is a screenshot showing what I am working on. The left being what my retool table looks like and the right being what my custom table looks like.
I believe that the white space in the left most part of the table below "Crew Leader" is its own column, and can't be removed, without taking out the value that the columns are being grouped by.
As the column header of Crew Leader/Driver/Mechanic/Operator still needs to be displayed in the space of that column, with the names of the Crew Leaders being another column next to the column category that they are being grouped by.
Just to confirm this, can you click on the buttons circled in my screenshot below to display the column edges?
You can drag the column edge to the left to make the left most column smaller but that would just end up cutting off the titles that the column is being grouped by.
Apologies for the inconvenience, you can also select the column and align items to the left as well as click and drag the column sizes to move the names further to the left.
Here is the table with the column borders shown. You are correct that changing the column sizes does end up cutting off the column titles I am grouping by.
