Random queries terminated due to connection timeout

Hi,

For some unknown reasons, different PostgreSQL queries in different periods of time are terminated due to a connection timeout. There is no pattern I can identify, because sometimes everything works without any errors. After a page refresh, I might have an error that queries A, B, C are terminated, again after refresh, everything might work, and then again after refresh, queries D, E, F are terminated. And that happens on and on, with different queries (from 1 to 4-6 random queries) in different periods of time. (I have 20 queries that are running once the page is opened/refreshed. )

I tried to play with the timeout after settings, but that doesn't help.

UPD: Changing "Default Retool outbound region for queries" to a EU region helped significantly and tremendously reduced the amount of terminated errors, but still, from time to time, some of the queries are terminated.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Best,
Eugene

Hi @eekmv,

That is odd that the issue was so random.

Thank you for sharing that changing the outbound region to EU greatly helped with the frequency!

Are you on Retool cloud or self hosted? This sounds like a networking issue but is hard to troubleshoot. Is there any consistency with the size of data in the query payload?

Hi @eekmv,

Just wanted to check in and see if you are still having this issue or were able to notice any patterns on which queries were timing out for us to see if there is a reproducible bug.
