New Integration: Kafka

Retool now supports Apache Kafka. You can use the Kafka integration in apps and workflows to produce, consume, or commit messages to a topic. This integration enables you to respond to events as they occur, triggering changes and actions in your workflows or apps.

Kafka is currently in public beta on Retool Cloud. It will be available on the next stable release of Self-hosted Retool, and on public beta for Self-hosted Retool 3.102 or later.

This is incredible. I know it's recent, but do you all happen to have any additional resources or references on use cases?

I recently updated to 3.93.0-edge. But I cannot see Kafka in my list. I also wen to the beta settings and did not find a way to turn it on.

Is it also controlled by subscription we are running? Currently only testing on our test server.
What can I do?

Just a picture prooving my version state:

Hi @snorreentur

I just checked this version and am seeing it listed on my end. I found it by navigating to Beta under Advanced settings then searching "kafka" like below. If you're still not seeing "Kafka Connection" as an option could you send a screenshot? Thanks!

Hi @snorreentur! I just discovered that this was a mistake in our documentation. This feature should be available on version 3.102, which will release on October 16. My apologies for the confusion.

Kafka is rolled out on cloud

The feature flag will be default enabled and visible on self hosted on Oct 16 (3.102.0-edge), but we can enable it for you on self hosted if you like. Anybody else who wants it before the edge release can +1 reply here as well!

Thanks for the really good feedback guys! Duely noted when it comes and will be available.

Currently I have issues upgrading from 3.28, the discussions shall not continue here, but I want to highlight that email I sent to support in hopes to get it nuged.

Meanin I cannot use it until I get things upgraded
