We have a major issue with the multiplayer mode in Retool Cloud.
As long as now multipage app now is a default way to implement an app with multiple screens, we switched to this approach, and now all the team (3 devs) are working on the same app, but its different pages.
When everyone logs in, the editor shows all the three avatars in the top right corner correctly.
But then, if you leave a page and open a Retool DB, for example, and then return back to the app, the IDE won't show you as active person working.
You will be seeing only you as editor, while others will see themselves only.
But if you will try to change the app, it will say 'failed to save' and error message.
After refreshing, all the changes by the affected editor will be lost
Is this happening to anyone else? I am yet to migrate to multipage and afraid breaking the current system.
Hi @Rodion_Badak,
Apologies for the issue. I can convey your feedback to the UI engineer that owns multiplayer and see what we can do in the short term to mitigate this until a full fix is rolled out.
To confirm, everything works fine to start, but changing the URL in the browser(ex leaving the page to go to Retool DB) will cause, on return, that user to not be viewable as an editor to the other two editors and vice versa.
Additionally, any changes made by the user who is out of sync with the other two, will fail to save both with an error message saying the save action failed and on page refresh the changes will not appear. Correct?
I am going to do some testing to reproduce this behavior.
Hi @Rodion_Badak,
I just tried to reproduce this and was not able to get any saves to fail.
Let me know if I am missing any steps or if this issue is still appearing on your end. A screen recording would be very useful to reproduce.
