Hey everyone,
We’ve been huge fans of Retool for a long time now, and it’s been a real journey watching (and using) the platform as it continues to evolve. Retool has completely changed how we approach building apps —whether we’re throwing something together quickly or designing a custom solution. The latest release of custom components is just another example of why Retool continues to be a game-changer for developers like us.
At Weavy, we’ve been working on something that really fits into Retool’s new custom component framework: pre-built collaboration tools like chat, file sharing, activity feeds, and even some AI-powered enhancements. What we’ve built is designed to integrate smoothly with Retool, allowing teams to add these tools without having to start from scratch every time. And the coolest part? They fit perfectly into the developer experience that Retool has nailed so well. It’s been awesome seeing how seamlessly our components can be customized and applied across different apps—organization-wide!
I wrote about our take on it here.
We’re not here to pitch or sell—we just wanted to share how excited we are about how far Retool has come and how it’s enabled us to make something that, hopefully, makes life easier for other developers out there. If anyone is curious, we’d love for you to try our collaboration components out for free, and we’re always around to chat about the journey, challenges, or what everyone else is working on!
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about our experience or want to swap ideas. We’re learning alongside the community, and it’s great to see where this all goes next!
Cheers,
Mark @ Weavy
