How to remove box shadow for Retool modules

  • Goal: I have noticed that all of my Retool modules have a very minor box shadow. I would like my Retool modules to be consistent with other components, so I want to get rid of this very minor shadow.

I am running an on-prem 3.75 Retool instance.

Note how there is a very minor shadow in the module input component

hey @pablo.estrada do you still see this? I think it was quietly fixed

I still see it, but I am on a self-hosted instance, so the patch is probably not available for me yet.

Hi @pablo.estrada, could you remind me which Self-hosted version are you on?

3.114.1

Same behaviour here, its weird, from the module app there is not shadown option

Thanks for your patience, it's taking me a bit to get that version running. On the meantime... @JuanPablo, are you on the same version (3.114.1)?

I'm on cloud version @Paulo

I'm still unable to reproduce this issue on Cloud, Self-hosted versions 3.75, and version 3.114.

  • Could you share what browser and browser version are we on?
  • Are we using Themes or Custom CSS?
  • Is this happening on a Multipage app?

Thank you in advance.

Hey @Paulo I can confirm its no longer an issue on 3.122.0 Cloud

Im positive it was there previously, I googled and searched the forum if someone else had the issue. I didn't post, but I should have. I assume it was just corrected and didn't make it to the change log.

@Francisco_Villarreal could you provide more context on the version we are running? I believe it should be self-hosted 3.114.1

  • Browser: Chrome
  • Themes: using Retool Themes
  • Custom CSS: None
  • Happening on Multipage app: Yes, I only use multipage apps.

Hi @pablo.estrada, indeed you are on version 3.114.1. I'm also testing on my end.

Hi @pablo.estrada, I was finally able to reproduce this issue on your version (I was looking for it in the wrong place). I didn't see the box shadow for any inputs but I did notice one for the whole module:

I added it to the internal report and will update you here with any news.

We found the root cause for this bug and we're releasing the fix for Self-hosted v3.114.1 soon.

Update: The fix is scheduled for release on Wednesday, December 11.

Thank you all for surfacing this! :raised_hands:
