Are there plans to add a Couchbase connector or are there any known workarounds to interact with the database?

I just checked out list of feature requests and it looks like there had been one made for Couchbase integrations.
However one engineer stated "The Couchbase JDBC / ODBC drivers are not free / open-source. They're actually maintained by CDATA, which complicates the plan of using those drivers." and that we would have to "write our own integration using Couchbase's own open-source Node.js SDK".
This leads me to believe this support is not on our current roadmap 
If there are any known workarounds for using something like a REST API with AWS Lambdas or some kind of proxy, etc I would love to hear about that from the forum community
