App page save compaction had no effect

I was excited to see that the latest retool stable release include this function, as our app load times are getting quite slow.
(ie 7-10 second for Time to first query, plus the same again for time to productivity)

However when I ran the function (--run-pagesave-compaction) 99% of the result was something like:
PAGE 11 is or has been protected; skipping...

Given we are on prem and use version control (meaning that all our apps/modules are protected) does that mean this function won't have any effect?

Thanks - otherwise another awesome major release on an already brilliant platform. Just keeps getting better and better.

Hi Ben,

That's correct -- right now, compaction does not run on any protected apps. We can extend the functionality to support protected apps though, I'll add this to our backlog!
